रायपुर में आयोजित तीन दिवसीय अंतर जिला पुलिस खेलकूद प्रतियोगिता में गरियाबंद पुलिस की पुरुष हैंडबॉल टीम ने शानदार प्रदर्शन करते हुए विजेता का खिताब अपने नाम किया। रोमांच से भरे फाइनल मुकाबले में गरियाबंद की टीम ने रायपुर की मजबूत टीम को 12-10 के स्कोर से हराकर सभी को अपनी खेल प्रतिभा का लोहा मनवाया। इस जीत में गरियाबंद पुलिस टीम के खिलाड़ियों आशीष सफा, चुडामणि देवता, मनीष चंद्राकर, टीकम पटेल, कृष्णा पाटकर, राजू साहू, मोहित पटेल, अमृत यादव, अजित, लुकेश्वर सोरी और कोच जैमुनि बगर्ती व रवि सिन्हा की अहम भूमिका रही। खास बात यह है कि टीम के अधिकांश खिलाड़ी गरियाबंद की विशेष e-30 इकाई में पदस्थ हैं, जिन्होंने अपनी एकजुटता और मेहनत से यह मुकाम हासिल किया।

इस ऐतिहासिक जीत के बाद अतिरिक्त पुलिस अधीक्षक धीरेन्द्र पटेल, जितेंद्र चंद्राकर, डीएसपी निशा सिन्हा, थाना प्रभारी ओम प्रकाश यादव, गरिमा दादर, रक्षित निरीक्षक सनथ ठाकुर, समस्त थाना प्रभारी, शिवेंद्र राजपूत, भानु ध्रुव, श्याम रात्रे, ठंवर ध्रुव, रवि ध्रुव, शिवलाल तिर्की, विजय गेंन्द्रे, रोहित बंजारे और खिलेश्वर राज सहित डीआरजी गरियाबंद के सभी सदस्यों ने टीम को बधाई दी। अधिकारियों ने इस जीत को गरियाबंद पुलिस की एकता और समर्पण का प्रतीक बताया।
